Your Inspection Checklist

New construction or upgrading your existing service? We look forward to powering to your day. Before scheduling your inspection, consult our final inspection checklist below or download a printable final inspection checklist  to make sure you’re all set and ready to go.

City/county inspection

Your city or county inspection must be complete before PGE’s final inspection. Make sure that the city/county inspection sticker is clearly visible on the meter base. To avoid delays, we strongly recommend that you schedule and complete your city or county inspection before scheduling your final inspection with PGE.

Hard labeling

For structures with multiple units, make sure that your hard labels are visible and properly placed. These are permanently engraved metal or hard plastic labels that identify the customer service address, placed next to or below to the correct meter socket. This ensures that we know exactly which meter feeds which unit on your property. The labeling will also help electricians or contractors who are visiting your site in the future for maintenance or repair.

Pull string

Make sure that you have 500lb rated pull string from the electric socket to the pedestal or hand hole which is required for proper cabling and energizing your location.

Inspection requirements

These are the most common issues which can cause an inspection to fail. If your inspection doesn’t pass, we’ll provide you with details explaining why the inspection failed. Review our comprehensive list of Electric Service Requirements for the most current requirements.
