Our changing Oregon climate can lead to outages caused by wind, heat, snow and ice, or wildfire safety-related outages. We prepare for these events, and we want to help you prepare too.
Is your family ready for an emergency? Preparing ahead by making a plan and having the right supplies can help make managing an outage a little easier.
Make sure you have a two-week supply of shelf-stable food and water for all of the people and pets in your home. Don’t forget about livestock too.
Gather a supply of essential medicine; and have a backup plan for medical devices that need electricity to work.
Create an emergency kit with flashlights, fresh batteries, solar phone chargers, first aid and essential phone numbers.
Plan ahead to relocate with a friend, family member or to a shelter, especially if you have a medical condition that requires electricity or you'll need to work or learn from home during an outage
