PGE Union Negotiation

IBEW Local 125 Negotiations with PGE

PGE has received a 30-day notice of intent to strike on July 1 from a group of 31 System Operators who voted to join IBEW Local 125. The notice was issued as part of ongoing negotiations to incorporate this group into the existing bargaining unit. While our focus remains on reaching an agreement, PGE has plans in place to support continued safe and reliable service for customers.

The safety and reliability of our electric system will not be compromised. Providing safe, reliable service remains PGE’s highest priority.

Background

  • In 2024, System Operators– Balancing Authority Operators (BAO), Transmission Operators (TSO) and Distribution Operators (DSO) – voted to join IBEW Local 125.

  • The petition filed by the union was to integrate the 31 employees in the System Operators group into the Bargaining Unit 1 Agreement. This gives System Operators the competitive compensation and benefits plan available to all 600-plus IBEW Local 125 union members within that bargaining unit.

  • We are now in active negotiations with IBEW to incorporate these employees into the collective bargaining agreement.

Next steps in negotiations

  • Our PGE bargaining team is continuing to work in good faith toward an outcome that’s fair and reasonable for everyone.

Our values

  • We’re fortunate to have some of the most talented people in the energy services industry supporting our customers every day. We value our positive, collaborative labor relationships and honor our employees’ legal right to join a union.

  • Our decades-long partnership with IBEW Local 125 has helped us maintain fair compensation and benefits for the employees who work hard to deliver reliable energy to our communities.
