Portland General Electric gears up to celebrate National Drive Electric Week 2023

This year’s National Drive Electric Week runs from September 22 through October 1, and Portland General Electric is excited to celebrate this annual event by participating in various events throughout September to help educate our community on electric vehicles. National Drive Electric Week serves as a platform to raise awareness about the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, as well as commercial electric vehicles, EV chargers and more.

If you’re considering making the switch to an electric vehicle (EV) and curious about the cost savings and benefits to our environment, we invite you to join us at one of the following community events:

Milwaukie Sustainability Fair: Saturday, September 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Location: Milwaukie City Hall Parking Lot

The Milwaukie Environmental Stewards Group is hosting its annual Sustainability Fair  and Styrofoam Recycling event. Community members are invited to enjoy a day of food, fun and activities for kids. Attendees can also learn about local sustainability products and hear from guest speakers about ways to help lessen the negative impacts of greenhouse gas emissions on the environment. 

Lake Oswego Electric Home & Vehicle Fair: Saturday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Location: Lake Oswego United Methodist Church

Discover the benefits of an all-electric lifestyle and how transitioning to electric can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a cleaner environment. At the Lake Oswego Electric Home & Vehicle Fair you can chat with local EV owners and take an EV for a test drive. There will also be an opportunity to hear about the benefits of heat pumps for your home and work with experts to help you develop your five-year electrification plan. PGE is a proud sponsor of this event and will have the All-Electric Demo Home on site.

PGE EV Guest Drive Event: Saturday, Sept. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: PCC Sylvania Campus

PGE customers are invited to test drive two EV’s during the PGE EV Guest Drive Event. Get all your questions answered about electric cars, charging, PGE rebates and more. Customers must register before the event to reserve a drive time.

2023 OEVA Electric Vehicle Test Drive and Information: Sunday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: 4330 S Macadam Ave, Portland OR

PGE is sponsoring the OEVA EV Guest Drive Event where dozens of EV’s will be available to test drive on a first-come first-served basis. There will also be indoor booths with more information about making an EV transition. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
