Try electric: What to expect at an EV Ride & Drive event

Curious about electric vehicles but not sure where to start? We can help. Ride & Drive events are a fun, no-pressure way to explore electric vehicles and learn how easy it can be to make the switch to electric — no sales pitch, just solid information.

We host these free, family-friendly events throughout the area as part of our commitment to a clean energy future. Supported by the Oregon Clean Fuels Program, Ride & Drives give you a chance to test drive a wide range of EVs, talk with experts and get plugged into local resources and incentives.

Why attend a Ride & Drive event?

Whether you’re EV curious or ready to make the switch, Ride & Drive events are the perfect way to explore your options. You’ll find:

  • Test drives and ride-alongs available in a variety of electric vehicles — compact cars, roomy SUVs and even electric trucks. We partner with local dealerships to bring both new and used models, so you can compare options that fit your lifestyle and budget.

  • Answers to top EV questions like battery range and maintenance to how EVs perform in Oregon weather. Not sure how charging works or where to do it? We’ll cover that too.

  • Help with rebates and incentives from the knowledgeable team at PGE. We’ll share information on current savings on home chargers, state and federal tax credits and other EV incentives available in your area. You might be surprised how affordable it is to go electric!

What will I learn at a Ride & Drive?

Ride & Drive events are designed to be a one-stop shop for all things EV. In addition to test drives and expert Q&As, you’ll find educational booths, giveaways and maybe even some snacks while you browse.

Bring your questions, bring your family and get ready to experience the future of driving firsthand.

Want to see your savings before your drive?

PGE’s EV Cost & Savings Calculator makes it easy to compare costs between gas and electric vehicles. Just plug in a few details and you’ll see your estimated savings on gas, maintenance and total ownership costs. It’s a helpful way to see what owning an EV really looks like and just how doable making the switch can be.
