Energy Partner Design

Get complimentary assistance in choosing all-electric, grid-interactive efficient building (GEB) systems from PGE.

Ready to build? We're here to help.

PGE is partnering with new construction projects throughout our service area to help construct better, cleaner and more flexible, energy-efficient buildings with our Energy Partner Design (EPD) program. This free service provides architects, developers and builders with the early-stage engineering support needed to make informed, energy-efficient decisions.

An easy way to plan ahead

Our Energy and Emissions Estimator is a helpful tool that allows you to visualize immediate and long-term impacts.

The Estimator provides insight into your project’s potential energy consumption and emissions output from its various building upgrades including grid-interactive systems and building shell improvements. You can even download and share your findings with your team.

How does Energy Partner Design work?

PGE works closely with PAE Engineers to identify the emissions and energy use of key building systems and provide a relative comparison with the previous basis of design. Once the evaluation concludes, PGE provides a findings summary valued up to $10,000 that outlines the benefits of choosing an efficient, grid-interactive design and additional programs and incentives that lead to further savings.

Simply submit an Energy Partner Design request form and our Commercial Energy Offerings team will reach back out within two business days.

Energy Partner Design in action

PGE recently partnered with the University of Portland to analyze several HVAC replacement options for the university’s iconic 41,000-square-foot Swindells Hall. The assessment revealed that new heat pumps would lead to significant lifecycle energy cost savings and reduce emissions by over 2,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalents — a reduction equivalency of 930,000 pounds of coal.

The assessment included additional savings and emissions reduction opportunities available to PGE commercial customers like Energy Partner on Demand, Dispatchable Standby Generation and the Energy and Emissions Estimator. Combined, these programs with the university’s heat pump installation will make Swindells Hall a true grid-interactive efficient building.
