Among our many projects, we’re upgrading thousands of electric meters. These new meters will allow us to start or stop service remotely. You’ll be able to get a same-day response for a move-in or move-out request rather than scheduling and waiting for a meter technician. It’s faster and more convenient for you, it’s greener because it saves on driving, and it helps control our operational costs.
Meter exchange schedule November 2019 through 2022
Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This schedule may change based on the needs of the project. Weekend and night hours may be required at times.
What to expect
A meter technician will perform the upgrade and will carry PGE identification while working. There’s no need for you to be present during the work. Our technicians will know your meter location and can complete the work on their own within a few minutes.
There will be a brief interruption to your power (likely less than one minute) as the technician removes your old meter and installs the new one.
