Meter-reading Schedule

How to see when we read your meter

How it works

Thanks to PGE smart meters, we now read most meters remotely.

However, we still need to read some meters in person. If you are enrolled in a billing program that requires a non-standard meter — such as Solar Payment Option, Time of Use or Net Metering — PGE requires monthly access to manually read the electric meters. And there may be other technical circumstances that may require access to the electric meter, so meters should always be kept accessible.

To see when PGE will read your meter, look at your PGE bill and follow these steps:

  1. Find your meter-reading cycle number on your bill. It is located to the left of “Amount Due” on the top of your bill.

  2. Find your cycle number on the meter-reading schedule. PGE

  3. Find the dates we will read your meter in the month column to the right of your cycle number.
