As we work toward Oregon’s clean energy future, we’re strengthening the energy grid to make it smarter, more efficient and more reliable for you. Among our many projects, we’re currently installing a half mile of new underground lines (called feeders) from the Marquam substation to Lair Hill Park. This includes eight new vaults and two new poles.

This upgrade will help strengthen the grid so we can continue to provide your community the energy it needs in the future.

What to expect

You’ll see our crews working in the areas highlighted on the map.

Construction schedule*

June to December 2020

• Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., unless that needs to be changed due to work permits.

We do not expect any planned power outages, but if that changes, we’ll send out letters or leave a notice on your door at least 48 hours before.

Important traffic and safety tips

Safety for you and our team is always our priority. To keep pedestrians, cyclists and drivers safe, we will close lanes and reserve street parking. This will help make room for equipment and create a safety buffer around our work area.

• Watch for temporary lane or street closures and detours

• Allow for extra time for commuting through these areas

• Follow directions from any flaggers, detours and signs

• Watch for “no parking” signs

• Avoid all work areas and equipment

• Make sure children know to never touch construction equipment
